Electronic and electrical plugs: divided into plugs, sockets and connectors. Plugs and sockets are generally divided into two-pole plugs and two-pole grounded plugs.
Current passes through, so I would like to tell everyone that as long as any electrical appliance is not in use, it must be unplugged to save electricity.
For power plug products, there are usually four nouns:
1. Plug. Refers to the part that connects to the power cord and has a male pin. The full name should be called a plug connector. For the two-pin flat plug, it is sometimes spelled duckhead in English (duck head, whichever it means).
2. Connector. Refers to the part that is connected to the power cord and has a female (female) jack socket.
3. Appliance input socket (inlet). Its state is similar to 1, but it is installed on a fixed body such as an electrical appliance without connecting wires, including the one installed on the socket body.
4. Socket. Its status is similar to 2, but the installation location is the same as 3. The full name should be appliance socket.
2 and 3 of these four words are often confused by ourselves. Those with pins are often called plugs, and those with holes are called sockets, but they are actually different.
Safe use of electrical plugs
Poor quality of plugs, sockets, and converters is an important cause of electrical fires. The quality problems of small plugs, sockets and converters will pose serious harm to the personal and property safety of consumers. Therefore, when purchasing plugs, sockets, converters, and switches, consumers should focus on product safety. The main factors affecting its safety are the following performance indicators:
Plug logo
The sign is an important basis for instructing people to install, use and maintain correctly, and is an extremely important safety standard content to ensure the safety of personal and property. For plug and socket products, the rated current, rated voltage, and nature of the power supply shall be marked in obvious places. In addition, converters (converters refer to mobile electrical accessories with one or more sockets combined together) products should use the “MAX (or maximum)” symbol to mark the rated current and/or power to guide users to avoid exceeding load usage. Signs or symbols should be durable and legible. Logos should not use silkscreen and paper stickers that can be easily erased.
Plug rating
The rated value is to ensure the normal, safe and cooperative use of plugs, sockets and converters with the connected electrical appliances
The most basic electrical interchange fit parameters. For example: the rated current of the converter shall not be greater than the rated value of the plug part. Otherwise, it may cause danger due to over-current heating of the plug when the user selects electrical appliances according to the rated current of the socket. The minimum rating of converters with fuses and overload protectors shall be equal to the rating marked on the fuse and overload protectors. Otherwise, product damage may occur.
plug size
The size is an important technical requirement related to whether the plug, socket and converter can be used safely and whether they meet the general interchangeability requirements to avoid mis-insertion. If the size is unqualified, it will affect the user’s use or cause hidden dangers such as poor contact and wrong insertion. If it is light, it will damage the equipment, and if it is serious, it will cause fire and electric shock.
Protection against electric shock for plugs
Anti-electric shock protection is a key safety indicator to ensure that plugs, sockets, and converters will not cause electric shock accidents to users and others under normal use conditions, or even some accidental conditions. Live parts of the plug shall not be accessible when the plug is fully or partly engaged with the socket-outlet. Any pin of the plug shall not be able to engage with the live socket of the socket when the other pins are in an accessible state. Plug sockets and converters with protective doors should be able to prevent single-pole or probe insertion.
European standard waterproof plug Rated voltage: 250V Rated current: 16A Scope of application: European countries (flush pins), France Whether it is exclusively for foreign trade or not: (This product is only for foreign trade use and may not meet domestic product standards. Domestic buyers are advised to purchase carefully.) 3C rated voltage range: 50V above 440V and below Specifications: E-012 (European), E-012 (French) | Standard type: American standard plug Rated current: 30A Rated voltage: 480V Number of poles: 4P Number of pin cores: 4 cores Plug life: 1500 times Protection class: no 3C rated voltage range: 50V above 440V and below Core diameter: 0.5mm? Socket type: five-pole power plug Order number: YDL1630P Scope of application: high power, generators, machinery, aviation, etc. |
The structure of the plug
The socket assembly of the socket shall have sufficient elasticity to ensure sufficient contact pressure on the plug pins. The socket should be corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant to ensure good contact between the plug and the mating part of the socket;
The pin of the plug should be locked and cannot be rotated, otherwise it will affect the insertion performance and cause unsafe factors;
The converter has a cord fixing device to ensure that the cord is fixed and can withstand normal tension and torsion, etc.;
When the plug and socket are mated, the mating surfaces should be basically tight to prevent electric shock accidents.
plug power cord
The power cord should have a sufficient cross-sectional area to ensure that the power cord will not heat up and cause damage to the insulation layer, resulting in short circuit, fire, leakage, and accidents. For example: the cross-sectional area of the power cord of a common 250V, 10A power plug should be greater than or equal to 0.75mm2.
Mechanical strength of the plug
The plug and socket should have sufficient mechanical strength to withstand various mechanical stresses caused by drops, impacts, extrusions, etc. during installation and use. Sockets with protective doors shall prevent single-pole insertion.
Heat resistance and flame resistance of the plug
High temperature has a great influence on various properties of insulating materials, and the structure and characteristics of insulating layer materials will undergo essential changes under high temperature conditions. This variation determines the reliability of the material used. Some materials will gradually become soft at high temperature, and their mechanical strength will decrease, which will affect the quality of the plug and socket and the safety in use. In addition, the insulating material of the plug and socket should have certain flame retardant properties. Otherwise, if the product catches fire during use, it will be out of control. Learn about the safety features of plug sockets. When buying and using, grasp the following points to ensure the safety of your family and property:
1. You must choose regular factories, supermarkets or specialty stores, choose brand products; choose corresponding (matching) products according to the power of the electrical appliances used. Such as: air conditioners, high-power showers and other products should use 16A plugs and sockets. Other low-power household appliances can use 10A plugs and sockets. For example, when purchasing a 16A plug power cord, you need to check whether the square specification of the wire reaches 1.5 square meters or more. If the wire is less than 1.5 square meters, it is easy to cause the copper wire of the wire to heat up when using high-power electrical products, and the outer skin of the PVC will become soft, resulting in electrical burnout or short circuit problems.
2. It is necessary to see whether the product logo is complete, whether there is a manufacturer’s trademark, whether there is a safety certification mark of the local country (for example, in the Chinese market, whether there must be a CCC mark). If there is no mark on the plug and wire product, the plug product must be a fake and inferior product, and the quality of the product will not be guaranteed.
3. Check the certificate of conformity and the inspection report issued by the statutory department for the plug product. If the converter product is not included in the compulsory certification, you should check the inspection report issued by the statutory inspection agency when purchasing, or check online whether the file number on the plug is valid.
4. Carry out a simple mating experiment on the plug product. After the plug is inserted into the socket, it should be in good contact without feeling loose, and it can be pulled out without too much force. Because some products have been tested before leaving the factory, but after being transported after leaving the factory, it is inevitable that the inserts of the plug will be damaged. Test before buying to save a lot of unnecessary losses in the future.
5. Never buy a plug with a rotatable pin or artificially change the shape of the plug. This kind of plug after changing the shape must pass the CCC certification, otherwise it is definitely an unsafe plug product, and it is easy to be broken down by high-voltage electricity. Do not use two high-power electrical appliances on one socket at the same time; if you find that the temperature of the plug socket or power cord is too high or if there is ignition, stop using it and replace it.

EV / HV high voltage wiring harness for Battery Packs
EV / HV high voltage wiring harness Conductors can be divided into single-core conductors and multi-core conductors according to process characteristics. The difference is that multi-core wires are made up of multiple single-core wires. In essence, the electrical performance parameters and structural size parameters of each single-core wire are no different from those of single-core conductors. If the multi-core cable is used for signal transmission, separate shielding measures need to be taken to ensure that the signal is not lost.
